Have you ever done anything to honor God? Honor means to give high regard or respect. Living your life to honor God should be your ultimate goal as a Christian. Here are some ways that we fail to honor God. We don't obey him. We don't invite him into our everyday lives. We make life all about us. We take credit for what God has done in our lives. We don't go and make disciples. These are all things that we struggle with in our lives. Here are some helpful tips to honoring God every day, and if you ask me they are truly simple. Love the ones that God loves. Spend time with God every day whether it is in prayer or doing something that will please Him. Model Jesus with your words and actions meaning hold your tongue when you feel like swearing, or putting something back when tempted to steal. Remember the phrase, "What Would Jesus Do?" Tell somewhat what God has done for you. Read the manual...Bible. If you are ever in doubt that your actions are questionable go to the book or pray. God is there for you always, so honor him!
There have been times in our all of our lives where we are faced with a decision of right or wrong. Whether or not we make the right decision could be a subconscious misinterpretation. Somewhere deep down inside our heart we know that God is watching us, just like Adam and Eve. Once they bit the apple from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, they were ashamed of their nakedness and hid from God. We are all faced with the decisions of things to do that are right and wrong every day. God sees our hearts no matter if we can hide our bad decision or not. Stay clear of the forbidden fruit of the world and reap in the satisfaction that God's love is the best thing that we have, so lets love him back!
God is love, it is said in the bible. What do you think that means? As a human, one of our greatest needs is to be loved. We need to know that we are important to someone and that we matter. We need that sense of unconditional love that flows through our blood. Here are a list of things that is described as God's love. God's love is self giving meaning that love involves action. It is expressed in the giving of oneself for the good of another, so it always demands an object. God's love is sacrificial meaning he gave up what was dearest to Him and that was His son for our sins. God's love is unconditional meaning God’s love is that it is extended to us when we do not deserve it and continues steadfast and strong even when we do not respond to it. God's love is eternal meaning that his love goes past our physical lives. God's love is Holy meaning everything God does is done in the totality of His being, so His love must always be consistent with His other attributes. Since God is holy, then His love must be a holy love that encourages holiness in those loved. Gods love is comforting meaning when we grasp the reality of God’s love, we will no longer seek our security in jobs, bank accounts, investments, houses, husbands, wives, friends, or health. We will rest in the Lord, free from all fear, secure in the assurance that He is going to provide all that we need and protect us from everything that will not be for our good. Gods love is life-changing meaning most of us long to be loving people, able to give love to our spouses, our children, our fellow believers, our unsaved acquaintances, and, most of all, to the Lord Himself. But we find it so difficult. It is nearly impossible for us to love others unless we are genuinely convinced that we ourselves are loved. Some of us are hard, callused, insensitive, and unloving people because we are not convinced we are really loved. We are saying unconsciously, “Why should I be loving to others when nobody shows me any love?” God’s love can change that. We can find all the acceptance and affection we crave in Him; then with the confidence that we ourselves are loved, we can extend love to others. “We love,” said the Apostle John, “because He first loved us.”
This blog is not going to be that of the nature of having to say something about the Bible, but rather a form of entertainment where kids and family can hunt for clues that I put into the blog. In the blogs to come there will be verses from the bible or a story that I quote. If you can name the story or quote that I am talking about, there will be some sort of prize. I will keep tally of how many you answer correctly. It will be your responsibility to e-mail the answer to email@example.com. If you do not send an E-mail. I cannot keep tally and you may not win. Happy Hunting!
A lot of us run for exercise. I go to the gym often to stay in shape. The running though that I am going to talk about is running from God. If there are times where it seems that God is on the back burners and there are hits that are coming from the Devil, left and right. Know this! God will never leave or forsake you. Just as things cannot seem to be getting worse and you are running in the wrong direction, consider turning around and running back to God! 1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Friends are great to have! We all have our best friends, or as girls like to say "BFF!" We have the times where we get into fights and have our disagreements. I wanted to tell you about a best friend of mine that I have never gotten in an argument with or have had no disagreements on anything. This friend has always done the right thing and has always been there for me. This friend will never fail me in a time of need or crisis. This friend of mine is God! Whatever the circumstance. whatever the time of day. Whatever the need. God is there for me and he is there for you too! So if you think that your friends opinions are hurtful, kind, loving, mean, careless, or anything, always know that your Best Friend Forever will always be God!
The last few day's have kind of been a drag. It has been wet and rainy. A very interesting time that I would like to call a time of new beginnings. Remember all the times that God has given us signs that we can start over new. Well, you have that opportunity every day of your life. Every time that it rains and rains and rains, things seem to get all soggy, wet, and cold. As soon as the sun comes out, what happens? Things seem to be greener, birds are chirping and everything seems to be getting a new start. Just like in Genesis when God flooded the Earth and wiped out everything. What did we get out of it? A new beginning to start fresh and be clean. We all have points in our lives when we need that second chance to start fresh and be renewed. God is waiting for us to jump on that opportunity. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
We have all started a new month and there are so many things that are going on! We tend to loose sight of God and put him on the side burner with so many things going on. There are sports, dances, new TV shows, video games, shopping for winter stuff ect. Also it is the start of the holiday season and there are many moving parts, things to do and people to see. One thing that we want to be careful of is setting God to the side. I can guarantee that if you keep God in site through all of the hectic stuff going on, you will find it a lot less stressful. I remember a couple years back, I was trying to be in two places at once and I knew it couldn't happen, but tried to do it anyways. It turned out for the worst, but the thing was, God was there with me and calmed my spirit and made things a lot easier than they were. I would encourage everyone to pick up that bible in the morning for 15 minutes and read a paragraph and say some silent prayers. You will find that God is right there with you.
Loving God, following God and seeking more of him!
